Local nurses celebrate National Nurses Week

This is National Nurses Week and  nurses at Joplin's Freeman Hospital kicked off the week with a Friday morning pancake feed.

Freeman Chief Nursing Officer Jeanee Kennedy, RN, says Freeman employees all kinds of nurses.

"We have Licensed Practical Nurses, LPNs. We have Registered Nurses, RNs, and then we have Advanced Practice Nurses and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesists," Kennedy states. "So, we have a lot of different types of nurses."

National Nurses Week ends on May 12th, which is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
