Motorcycle rider injured in accident near Purcell

A motorcycle rider from Jasper was injured in a Friday-evening accident on Route D in Purcell.

A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. when a westbound 2015 Harley Davison Motorcycle was slowing to make a right turn.

The rider lost control and the bike overturned, ejecting him.

53-year-old Jerry L. Wilson of Jasper was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

The MSHP report describes his injuries as serious.

The report says Wilson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
