Pedestrian accident near Monett claims life of Rolla man

A man from Rolla was killed after an accident involving a tractor-trailer Friday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened just northeast of Monett, when a Freightliner hit the trailer of a parked semi, causing that trailer to fatally strike 69-year-old Randy D. Hance, who the patrol says, was a pedestrian.

Hance was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the Freightliner was 49-year-old Troy A. Dunlap of Exeter.
