Identity of stabbing victim released, suspect charged with murder

Kansas City police have identified the middle school student stabbed to death this week as 14-year-old Manuel Guzman. 

Guzman was found bleeding from stab wounds inside a boy’s bathroom Tuesday morning at Northeast Middle School. 

First responders began life-saving efforts, and he was taken to a local hospital where he died. 

A fellow student has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. 

His identity has not been released as Kansas City authorities explore charging him as an adult.
