St. Louis woman dies after having hot oil dumped on her

A St. Louis woman is dead just under a month after having hot oil dumped on her.

St. Louis Metro Police say the attack took place a little after midnight on March 7th in an assisted living facility in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.

Doren Davis was taken to a hospital where she was treated for severe burns. Police discovered Davis and her alleged assailant were roommates.

Police said the roommate said she was upset with Davis over a personal matter and admitted to pouring hot cooking oil on her.

Davis died on April 3rd. The death has been ruled a homicide.

The roommate was placed under arrest the day after the alleged attack. She is in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections.
