Woman from Neosho charged in DWI fatality

NEOSHO, Mo. – A woman from Neosho has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated Involving the Death of Another after a two vehicle collision on Baxter Street in Neosho over the weekend.
27-year-old Stormi Dean of Neosho was charged on a one-count complaint and is currently being held on a warrant issued by Judge Gregory Stremel of the 40th Judicial Circuit.
The defendant is charged with a Class B felony, punishable by five to fifteen years in the Department of Corrections if convicted.
The Neosho Police Department says the accident, that occurred at 01:27 a.m. on April 2, took the life of 22-year old Kearah Lovett of Neosho. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lovett was the back seat passenger in the vehicle that was struck from the rear. The driver and front-seat passenger survived with substantial but non-life-threatening injuries.
This case was investigated by members of the Neosho Police Department and will be prosecuted by the Newton County Prosecutor’s Office.
