Investigation continues after standoff in Baxter Springs Saturday night

An investigation continues after shots were fired at authorities during a standoff in southeast Kansas Saturday night.
Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves says law enforcement got a call regarding an alleged domestic disturbance just after 7 PM, at a home in the 300 block of S. Wyandotte Avenue in Baxter Springs.
Groves says the suspect fired numerous shots from within the home, with several shots being fired at law enforcement during the roughly 3-hour standoff.
He would not comment on the condition of the shooter or if anyone else inside was hurt, but did say no law enforcement officers were injured.
Multiple agencies from the area responded to the scene, including Joplin SWAT team members.
More updates are expected Sunday.
