SEK man facing child sex crime charges

A man from Southeast Kansas is being held without bond in the Cherokee County Jail, facing numerous allegations of child sex crimes.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Richard Anthony Sanchez, of Cherokee, was taken into custody by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Investigators Wednesday, following a month-long investigation.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant for Sanchez was issued in Cherokee County District Court charging him with Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child, Attempted Indecent Liberties with a Child, Criminal Solicitation of a Child, Attempted Rape and Aggravated Intimidation of a Witness.
