Lt. Gov. Kehoe to host Women of Achievement Award Ceremony
Joplin resident among recipients

Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe will host the inaugural Lieutenant Governor’s Women of Achievement Award Ceremony in the Missouri State Capitol’s First Floor Rotunda beginning at 9 a.m. this Thursday, March 22.
The award ceremony will recognize and honor the ten recipients of the 2022 LieutenantGovernor’s Women of Achievement Award.
“This ceremony will provide recognition to ten incredibly deserving recipients,” said Kehoe. “They represent the diverse accomplishments of Missouri women, and I could not think of a better way to honor their contributions.”
The Lieutenant Governor’s Women of Achievement Award was created in 2022 to recognize the
diverse accomplishments of Missouri women.
The recipients include Sharon Beshore of Joplin.
Beshore was named “Outstanding Citizen of the Year” by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce in 2018. She has chaired the board of directors for Connect2Culture and the Missouri State Council on the Arts. She has been a member of the Freeman Health System Philanthropy Committee and on the Autism Advocacy Committee for the Bill and Virginia Leffen Center for Autism.
Beshore worked as an educator for more than two decades, with stints in the Carthage School District, Missouri Southern State University and Pittsburg State University.
