UPDATE: Possible homicide victim identified in Pittsburg

Pittsburg Police responded early Monday afternoon to a home in the eleven hundred block of West 4th Street for a welfare check.  

What they found was the body of 44 year old Misty Sorenson.  

The body has been sent to Kansas City for an autopsy.      

Pittsburg Police are investigating the death as a possible homicide.   

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Response Team is assisting with the investigation, along with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Tri-State Major Case Squad..
