Former substitute accused of sex with student to stand trial

A former substitute teacher in the Golden City School System has waived her preliminary hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court.

22-year-old Jacey B. Stahl Collins is accused of having a sexual relations with a student.

She was ordered to stand trial by Associate Judge Joe Hensley.

Prosecutors allege Collins had sex with a student in the bedroom of the student's home in Jasper County in  February 2021. She also allegedly tried to get the student, whose age has not been released, to destroy his cell phone, promising to buy him a new one.

She was a full-time substitute at the time.

Collins is free on bond. Her next court date is set for March 23rd.
