Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush is praising President Joe Biden’s choice to replace Justice Stephen Breyer on the U-S Supreme Court.
If confirmed, Ketanji Brown Jackson would be the first African American woman to serve on the nation’s High Court.
Bush, a Democrat who represents urban St. Louis and majority-black communities in St. Louis County, says Jackson has a strong track record of advancing civil rights.
Bush also thanked President Biden for keeping his promise to nominate a Black woman.
Meanwhile, Senator Roy Blunt says while he'd love to vote for a black woman, he wants a nominee who will determine what the Constitution says, not what she or he thinks it should say.
