Two arrested after chemical bomb explosion in Independence

Two people from Independence, Kansas, have been taken into custody related to an incident where a homemade chemical bottle bomb exploded after being thrown from a moving car.

The Independence Police Department (IPD) has arrested 29-year-old Kendra Musgrove on charges stemming from the chemical bomb that was reported to IPD.

30-year-old Josh Wallace was arrested on February 5th.

Authorities say both are in custody and charged with aggravated assault and criminal use of explosives.

Musgrove is also charged with attempted criminal damage and attempted arson.

Wallace is being held without bond. Musgrove is being held on $50,000 bond.

No injuries were reported from the initial incident.
