On 02/07/2022, at approximately 1320 hours, ODET Detectives and Joplin SWAT served a Search Warrant at 2304 West 4th Street in Joplin.

After further investigation, ODET Detectives then served a second warrant at 1802 Picher in Joplin.

ODET Detectives located a total of 115 grams of suspected Fentanyl pills, 2,639 grams of suspected THC Wax, 340 grams of suspected cocaine, 73 grams of Marijuana, and two Firearms.

A 25-year-old man is in custody with charges pending through the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney for 2 Counts of Trafficking 1st, Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

This was an extremely large amount of suspected Fentanyl that was seized and kept off the streets. Fentanyl overdoses have been extremely high this past year and has been the primary focus of the Task Force.

It only takes a small amount of Fentanyl to make a person OD. The DEA says two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal depending on a person’s body size, tolerance, and past usage.
