Accident at Fidelity cloverleaf results in injuries to one man

An accident around 5 this morning on I-44, at the Fidelity cloverleaf has resulted in injuries to one man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place when a 2014 Freightliner Tractor Trailer unit driven by 55-year old Kenneth P. Chapman of Anchorage, Alaska went off the road and overturned.

Chapman, who the patrol says was not wearing a safety device, was removed from the wreck by a Carthage Fire crew. He was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Part of the cargo of the unit, which consisted of paper, spilled out of the truck.
