Pierce City woman killed in Thursday afternoon crash

A crash on Missouri 97, two miles north of Pierce City, has taken the life of a woman from that community.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells NewsTalk KZRG that  54-year-old Julie A. Caldwell was killed when the car she was driving traveled off the roadway and overturned.

An 11-year-old boy who was an occupant in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries. His name has not been released due to his age.

The accident took place about 1:20 on Thursday afternoon. The Patrol says neither Caldwell nor the juvenile were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
