Joplin sees warmest December ever recorded

With an average mean temperature of 50 degrees, it was the warmest December on record for the city of Joplin.

The National Weather Service says  this beat the previous high of 47.4 degrees in December of 1965.

The normal December average temperature is around 38 degrees.

The lowest temperature the city saw was 25 degrees.
