Jasper Police investigating case of sexual assault

Police in the city of Jasper are investigating a case of sexual assault of a minor by an adult male.

On Wednesday, detectives arranged for a voluntary interview with the man they say is a suspect, 27-year-old John Vincent Estes of Jasper.

The victim in the case was reportedly interviewed at the Children’s Cener of SW Missouri in Joplin early this week.

She reportedly described a sleepover that included a sexual assault in the middle of the night that occurred ina garage.

That investigation is in progress.
