JACC continues search for new president

The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce continues to search for a replacement for former president and CEO Toby Teeter, who resigned from the position in late June.

Chamber Board Chairman Jeremy Drinkwitz said Wednesday the search firm for the Chamber met with its search committee on November 16th to review the current pool of qualified applicants, select the first round of interviewees and begin scheduling interviews.

In 2020, Teeter aroused ire when an open letter he put out acknowledged structural racism in Joplin.

With more than 750 members, the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce is the largest business membership organization in the seven-county, Tri-state region.

The Chamber wants to select a new President by Dec.31 of this year.
