Inmate death being investigated in Ottawa County

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is now investigating the death of an inmate at the Ottawa County Jail in Miami, Oklahoma.

It happened Saturday, November 13, 2021, at approximately 5 p.m., when detention staff were alerted by inmates that 38-year-old Michael W. Victor, of Miami, was having medical issues and had apparently stopped breathing.

Detention staff then rendered aid before Victor was transported to Miami Integris Hospital. Victor died at the hospital.

Victor’s body was transported to the Oklahoma Office of the State Medical Examiner to determine his cause of death.
