Jefferson City Police locate a missing eight-year-old Missouri girl in Kansas with her father who did not have custody

Jefferson City Police announced last night that they located a missing eight-year-old Missouri girl in Kansas with her father who did not have custody. 

JCPD issued an endangered person advisory for Dakota Leigh on Sunday morning. 

She was reported missing after spending the night with her non-custodial father, Gilbert Leigh, at a hotel.   

The  Kansas State Bureau of Investigations and Russell, Kansas Police made contact with Gilbert Leigh at a hotel in western Kansas.  

Leigh was arrested without incident and is in the Russell County (KS) Jail,  awaiting extradition to Jefferson City.   

The little girl is being united with her mother.
