Joplin Police identify officers involved in weekend fatal shooting

Joplin Police have identified the officers who were at the scene of that officer-involved fatal shooting Saturday afternoon. Read the full press release from JPD below:

UPDATE #2:
The officers involved in the shooting on October 30th are Officer Pete Box, Officer Darrell Klink, and Sergeant Jason Stump. All three officers are still currently on paid administrative leave per department policy and procedure. The investigation remains active and on-going. Further details may be released as they become available.

UPDATE:
The deceased suspect from this incident has been identified as Joseph Shane Endicott, age 41, of Carl Junction, Missouri. An autopsy has been scheduled for today at 10:30 am in Ozark, Missouri.

ORIGINAL:
On October 30th, 2021, at 3:42 pm the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call of a report of a disturbance. The caller described being assaulted by a male with a weapon. Officers responded to 1523 S. Kentucky Avenue and the first officer arrived on scene at 3:44 pm. During the incident, there was an officer involved shooting involving 3 officers from the Joplin Police Department. The suspect shot during the incident is deceased. His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. No officers were injured during the incident.
