Four girls, ages 15, 16, 17 and 18, all from Joplin suffered serious injuries around 6:30 Thursday evening when their 2001 PT Cruiser traveled off County Road 170 two miles west of Carthage, struck an embankment, hit a fence, and overturned.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report says the driver of the car, 18-year-old Leala A. Bowers, and two of the girls ages 16 and 17 were taken by Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Another girl, age 15, was transported by Med-Flight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
The accident report says none of the girls was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
