Work-Release walkaway Morris apprehended

TOPEKA, Kansas – Elvin Eugene Morris, a walkaway from a Work Release facility in Wichita, has been apprehended after walking away from the unit on Oct. 2.

Morris was taken into custody early this afternoon by officials from the Kansas Department of Corrections Enforcement Apprehensions & Investigations Unit and booked into Sedgwick County Jail.

The Wichita Work Release Facility is an all-male, minimum-custody state facility with a population of 250.

At this time no other details are being released as the investigation is ongoing.
