Two from Pittsburg arrested after pursuit in stolen vehicle

Two people from Pittsburg were arrested after allegedly leading authorities on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle. Read the full press release below:
On September 30, 2021, at approximately 12:53 PM, a Deputy with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop on suspected stolen vehicle. The driver failed to stop for the Deputy and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, the driver nearly struck a Deputy who had exited his vehicle to deploy tire deflation devices. A short time after that, the driver in attempt to avoid another deployment of tire deflating devices, almost collided with another Deputies patrol vehicle.
The pursuit continued into Barton County, Missouri, for approximately an hour, before the pursuit ended in a bean field in rural Barton County. The occupants of the vehicle were immediately apprehended.
The suspect driver was identified as Justin Cochran 29, Pittsburg. The female suspect was identified as Victoria Herring, 22 of Pittsburg. The 2020 Nissan Altima that was involved in the pursuit was confirmed to be stolen out of out of Joplin.
Both subjects were transported to jail by Barton County Deputies for criminal charges in Missouri. Criminal charges in Crawford County will be pursued on the Kansas side, including aggravated assault on LEO, fleeing and attempting to elude, and numerous other traffic violations.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office and Frontenac Police assisted with pursuit.
