Missouri gas tax going up October 1st

Starting Friday, October 1st, the Missouri gas tax will increase for the first time in 25 years.   

The increase will be two and a half cents per gallon.   

Additional increases will take place every July 1st until the total increase of 12 and a half cents has been reached.   

The funds raised by this tax increase will be used to maintain and upgrade roads and bridges across the state.
