MO 171 closing for roundabout construction north of Carl Junction

If you drive on Missouri Highway 171 between Joplin and Pittsburg, you will need to make a detour for about 2 months starting Tuesday September 28th.   

MODOT is closing 171 at highway 96 to finish construction on the new roundabout.   

The new roundabout will be the first ever built with added traffic signals for when trains go through the area.    

It will be located farther away from the train tracks for added safety.
