Freeman's Dr. Langer talks about babies, COVID-19

Joplin's Freeman Hospital held its weekly update on COVID-19 today.

Dr. Angela Langer, Medical Director of Women's Services at the hospital was the speaker.

NewTalk KZRG asked Dr. Langer if babies can be born with the virus.

"We're not a hundred percent sure," the physician answered. "There have been a few cases documented that we think actually the baby had COVID from the mom.  We do have cases where the baby was born negative and shortly after became positive but most of those babies don't have severe illness which is good."

Dr. Langer said expecting mothers can safetly take the COVID-19 vaccination.
