Oronogo man drowns in Stockton Lake

A man from Oronogo, Missouri, has drowned in Stockton Lake.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened just after 4 PM Wednesday when 51-year-old Stephen Courtney was wading in the water, stepped into an area of deep water, went underwater, and did not resurface.

This was Troop D’s 15th reported drowning so far this year.
