Trump praises Missouri governor for pardoning McCloskeys

Former President Donald Trump is praising Missouri Governor Mike Parson after his decision to pardon Mark and Patricia McCloskey. Read the 45th president’s statement below:

“Congratulations to Governor Mike Parson of Missouri for having the courage to give Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCloskey a full pardon. They were defending their property and if they had not done what they did, their property would have been completely destroyed and they would have been badly beaten, or dead—great going Mike”

The McCloskeys gained national attention last summer when they were seen pointing guns at social justice demonstrators as they marched past the couple’s home last year. The two said they felt threatened by the protesters, who were passing their home in June 2020 on their way to demonstrate in front of the mayor’s house nearby.

A grand jury indicted the couple on felony charges of the unlawful use of a weapon.
