Police say 13-year-old girl fatally shot in St. Louis County

(AP) — Suburban St. Louis police say a 13-year-old girl is dead after being shot in north St. Louis County, and a teenage boy has been arrested. 

St. Louis County Police say in a news release that the shooting happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, when officers were called for reports of a shooting. 

Arriving officers and medics found the girl, who had been shot inside a home. 

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released her name. 

Police say a 15-year-old boy was arrested.  Officials did not know what relationship the boy had to the victim.
