Barton County jail closed for repairs

The Barton County jail at Lamar has been closed for repairs.   The Barton County Sheriff’s office moved all ten of the inmates to a jail in Stockton while an estimate and repair work goes on.  

Reports indicate that some walls have rusted, there are areas of broken glass and some plumbing is needing repair.   The security cameras inside the jail are also planned to be updated.  

No time frame for the repairs has been announced.
