Nevada woman injured in Thursday accident

An 80-year-old Nevada, Mo. woman suffered serious injuries in an accident on U.S. 54 at the Nevada City limits Thursday afternoon.

A report from the MO State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a southbound vehicle driven by 80-year-old Connie C. Denning of Nevada failed to yield and was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by 28-year-old Sarah C. Fitzgerald of Deerfield.

Denning was taken to Nevada Medical Center with serious injuries.

Fitzgerald was not injured. Both drivers were wearing safety devices.
