The Joplin City Council gave its approval last week to a project that would renovate a 60-year-old elevated parking lot between 6th and 7th streets on Virginia.

The city approved a contract last week of $334,000 with Allegeier Martin and Associates to get the project underway.

The work will provide bracing and basic upkeep to that 60-year-old lot
