2 killed during head-on crash in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Authorities say two people were killed during a head-on collision on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a truck being driven by 91-year-old Montrel Shipley was traveling the wrong way on the freeway at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when it collided with a car driven by 45-year-old Paul Flemings.

Shipley and Flemings were both pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

A 33-year-old woman who was a passenger in Flemings’ vehicle was injured in the crash. She was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
