Construction to start on new roundabout with traffic signal

Construction is set to start on June first weather permitting on a new roundabout just north of Carl Junction.

According to MODOT, this roundabout will have a first, signals to control certain lanes when trains are passing just to the west of the intersection.

To increase safety, the intersection is being moved farther away from the railroad tracks.

The new roundabout is being constructed at the intersection of state highways 171 and 96 as well as county road YY to the west.
