Mark McCloskey announces US Senate run

St. Louis personal injury attorney Mark McCloskey has announced his candidacy for Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat that will be vacated by Roy Blunt in 2022.

McCloskey and his wife, Patricia, are most known for waving guns and yelling at protesters outside of their home back in June of 2020. Those protesters marched through their gated neighborhood on their way to former STL Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home.

McCloskey was charged with a felony, even after they claimed they were just protecting their property from those racial injustice protestors. The couple has now told a judge they are concerned about Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s handling of their case and asked that it be sent back to the grand jury.

McCloskey debuting his campaign website Tuesday. His Facebook page says, “Mark McCloskey has spent the majority of his career fighting for the rights of his fellow citizens. Now, he’s ready to answer the call to public service and stand up for our American values.”

Former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens and Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt have also declared for the race as well.
