Diamond man killed in accident south of Galena

A man from Diamond, Missouri, was killed in a crash just south of Galena, Kansas, late Thursday night.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says that around 11 pm, 28-year-old Coleton Wealot crossed the centerline of Highway 26 and hit another vehicle head-on.

Wealot was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, 38-year-old April Mathis, of Galena, was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
