Pedestrian seriously injured in Sunday night wreck

An accident on Schifferdecker Road, about a half mile north of Joplin just after 9 p.m. Sunday night has resulted in serious injuries to a woman walking on the road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a car driven by 32-year-old Carmen Harris of Carl Junction struck the pedestrian who was partially in the roadway.

38-year-old Ginger L. Husky of Joplin suffered serious injuries.

She was taken by ambulance to Freeman West hospital in Joplin.
