Vehicle accident results in injuries to Springfield woman

A one-car accident on Route D about four miles east of Springfield around 7:30 Friday evening resulted in injuries to a Springfield woman.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a vehicle operated by 19-year-old Grace Wedgeworth of Springfield failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road and slammed into a tree.
Wedgeworth was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.
According to the Patrol's accident report, Wedgeworth was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
