REAL ID extension in Missouri

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has again extended the deadline for Missourians to get a REAL ID. The federal agency cites the ongoing pandemic as the reason for the change. The stronger federal identification standards were put in place for homeland security and immigration purposes after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The IDs are optional, but will be required for air travel, and to enter federal sites like military bases and courthouses.
