Missouri chiropractor accused of false COVID-19 cure claims

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Federal Trade Commission is trying to stop an eastern Missouri chiropractor from continuing to make what the agency says is false claims about treatments for COVID-19.

The commission filed a complaint Thursday against Eric Anthony Nepute of Creve Coeur and his company, Quickwork, which does business as Wellness Warrior.

The complaint alleges Nepute claimed his company's zinc and vitamin D products were more effective than vaccines in treating COVID-19.

The FTC complaint against Nepute is the first in the nation under a new law that makes it illegal to engage in deception involving treatment, prevention or cures for COVID-19.
