Pittsburg woman found in possession of 2lbs of meth

A woman from Pittsburg was arrested after she was found in possession of a substantial amount of methamphetamine. Read the full press below:

On Thursday night, April 1, 2021, at approximately 11:29 PM, a law enforcement officer with the Pittsburg Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations in the 1900 block of N. Rouse St., in Pittsburg. Pittsburg Narcotics Investigators assisted with the traffic stop.

The Pittsburg Police Department’s K9 Officer deployed his Police Service dog, which indicated to the presence of illegal substances within the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in several illegal substances being seized. Marijuana, over 100 oxycodone pills, and approximately two pounds of methamphetamine was located during the traffic stop.

The two pounds of methamphetamine holds an estimated street value of $70,000. The driver, who was the sole occupant, 51-year-old Amy Jo Fontaine, of Pittsburg, was taken into custody for the above-mentioned illegal substances.

Fontaine was arrested for felony distribution of certain stimulants, felony distribution of narcotics, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of narcotics, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Fontaine was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking and is being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
