Stitt gets vaccinated as Oklahoma expands eligibility

(AP) — Oklahoma is opening vaccine eligibility to everyone in the state over age 16. The expanded eligibility prompted Gov. Kevin Stitt to receive his vaccine on Monday at the state Capitol. Stitt flashed a thumbs-up to reporters after getting his single-shot dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Stitt said he hopes getting the vaccine publicly will encourage other Oklahomans to do the same. State health officials say an increasing federal supply and partnerships with more than 1,000 private health care providers, laboratories, pharmacies and hospital systems enabled Oklahoma to expand eligibility to everyone.
