Fairview Alderman impeached; lawyer says he'll ask for a legal review

One member of the Board of Aldermen in the small town Fairview Missouri was impeached by three other members in a meeting held there on Wednesday.

The trio agreed that Alderman Raymond Stapleton had violated the Sunshine Law and another law regulating the negotiation of city contracts with businesses.

Stapleton was impeached after a lengthy meeting on four of five counts by Mayor Pro Tem Bill Canoy and board members, Pam McNee and Tammy O’Brien.

Stapleton’s lawyer says he’ll ask the court for a legal review of the action.

Fairview a town of fewer than 400 residents, is located between Neosho and Cassville.
