Missouri Supreme Court rules no new trial for Johnson

There'll be no new trial for Lamar Johnson, who has spent 26 years behind bars for a murder he says he didn't commit.

The Missouri Supreme Court denying his request for a new trial today. Johnson was convicted in 1994.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner says she's duty bound to correct what she feels is Johnson's wrongful conviction.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt successfully argued that Gardner lacks the authority to seek a new trial.
