Hawley to speak in Joplin Saturday night

Missouri junior senator Josh Hawley is headed to Joplin.

Hawley will speak at the Joplin Lincoln Day dinner this Saturday night. It will be a joint event for Jasper and Newton County Republicans.

A  local Republican spokesman says the event is already sold out.

Other confirmed guests include Rep. Billy Long, Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis and State Senator Bill White. Hawley is coming off a recent appearance at the CPAC meeting in Orlando, Florida.

Senator Hawley and the other office-holders will speak at the Butcher's Block event center just off North Main Street Road.

Hawley became the subject of controversy earlier this year after he objected to the Senate's certification of the Electoral College vote count on January 6 - the same day a group of rioters broke into the  United States Capitol.
