Woman arrested, again, after stealing Missouri Highway Patrol car

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - St. Charles authorities say a 32-year-old woman slipped out of her handcuffs and sped off in a Missouri State Highway Patrol car before she was found hiding in a trash can.

Police say Heather Rene Nesler, of St. Charles, was a passenger in a speeding car that was stopped on Saturday.

She was detained because she has several warrants in various jurisdictions. A trooper loosened her handcuffs after Nesler complained they were too tight.

Authorities say she drove off when the trooper went to retrieve her purse.

A short time later, the car was found abandoned in O'Fallon and a deputy found Nesler inside a trash can. She's facing three charges.
