Fire at Mercy Hospital Cassville

An early Monday morning fire in a heating and air conditioning unit on the roof of Mercy Hospital Cassville has temporarily closed the facility. 

According to Mercy spokeswoman Sonya Kullman, six patients were evacuated by ambulance to another Mercy Hospital in Aurora.   

It  has been reported the hospital will remain closed while it is determined what repairs are needed.   Smoke and water damage was confined to a small portion of the hospital.   No injuries were reported.
