Carterville water still being repaired, Webb City running at reduced pressure

Much of the city of Carterville remains without water and although help from Webb City has been made available, Webb is running at reduced water pressure as well. Officials in Webb City ask that you turn faucets to a drip rather than a stream to help the situation.

Read the full statement from the city of Carterville below:

“We have concluded that there will be no new solutions to the lack of pressure being supplied from Webb City as they are still running at reduced pressure themselves. They will continue sending us what they can as long as they do not drop too low as well.

Flynn Well Co. has been here all day pulling our well casing out. New casing installation should begin tomorrow. Their crew is working as fast as they can to get us back online and although they can not give us an exact completion day, they will be working through the weekend.

We have one final line break at Pine and Main that will be repaired in the morning after dig rite has located the utilities, however we are searching citywide for any others that show up.

The free water cases will continue to be passed out behind the Fire Department from 8am-5pm each day as long as we have it to give. You can still call City Hall tomorrow if you can not get out to get it.
Beginning Saturday, please call the Fire Department directly at 673-3070 if you need it delivered.”

The KZRG Morning Newswatch will be speaking with Carterville Mayor Pro Tem Cris Henkle Friday morning at 8:10 for more on the issue.
